Syncing with An Exchange Server

Corporate Exchange server is a good way to set your phone with your company’s email and calendaring back-end. All high end OS incorporated phones like iOS, Android and Windows offer integrated Exchange support. In some cases, company’s email address and password are required to access.

Connecting iOS Device to Exchange account

  • Head to the Settings and then scroll down to “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” and opt for “Microsoft Exchange” there
  • If you have one, click “Add Account…”, then tap “Microsoft Exchange”
  • Enter your email address, username, and password. Leave the “Domain” field blank if you don’t know it — it may not be necessary
  • Enter any additional settings required to access your company’s server
  • Press “Next”, and if the process is right, you will be prompted for the services you’d like to sync. After than go to the iOS Calendar app and tap the “Calendars” icon to choose the calendar you want to display on the app

Connecting Android Device To Exchange Account

  • In Android 2.3 and 4.0, tap on the “Accounts & sync” menu item
  • In Android 4.1, tap “Add Account” under the “Accounts” category
  • Click “Corporate”
  • Enter your email address and password
  • The dialog may expand, asking for similar settings. If your company has specific server settings, this is where you’ll enter them. Provided that your username and password are correct, the default settings generally work fine
  • Select which services to sync, then tap done
  • Tap the menu icon on the Calendar app itself and will bring up a dialog with the item Calendar to display

Connecting Windows Device To Exchange Account

  • Scroll down to “email+accounts”
  • Tap “add an account”
  • Select “Outlook”
  • Enter your email address and password
  • If you’re prompted for more settings, enter them now
  • Syncing With Google Account

Android users already have Google account, if not then adding in Account category. Other OS require more set up before toggle to calendars and accounts. Both iOS and Windows Phone require two steps to view calendar.

Step One

Windows Phone

  • Go to the app menu and scroll down for “email+accounts”
  • Tap here “add an account” and submit Gmail address and password
  • Calendars sync by default, there is an option of tapping on the account name after it’s had a chance to sync.

iOS

  • First you need to go to the “Settings” and then scroll down to “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”
  • After doing this just tap the “Add Account…” and opt for “Microsoft Exchange”
  • Now, enter your Gmail address and leave blank the domain field
  • Submit username and password and click on Next
  • A “Server” field will appear, enter m.google.com
  • Toggle the Calendar switch to “On”

Step Two:

When your device has synced with Google:

  • First of all go to http://m.google.com and log in there
  • After doing this tap “Sync”
  • Either “Windows Phone” or “iPhone” will be seen under “Manage Devices”
  • Here, select the device you are using and then select which calendars you’d like to sync
  • It’s done. Now “Save” it

 

Restart your device after completing the whole process.
