After scanning the system, the program will show you the estimated size of memory which can be cleaned up after running the cleaner.
  3. Now, after the scanning of the whole system is finished, it will show you a list of programs along with their sized which can be cleaned up. You just have to tick the box to check it and allow the particular folder to be cleaner or tick the box to uncheck it to exclude a particular folder from being cleaned up. If you are unsure on the contents of a particular folder, just click on the “Quick Look” option.

    There is nothing in builtin disk utility w.r.t. Mac optimization. One needs to look towards third party tool for this task.
    The tool I appreciate and use the most is Stellar Speed Up Mac.
