How to Remove the Slow-Down of Nexus 7 After Upgrading to Android 4.2 Firmware

Almost all owners of Nexus 7 update to the operating system Android 4.2. Not all users will like the new version of the OS. If the cosmetic changes in the system can be put up or somehow survive their appearance, do not pay attention to the slowdown of your device, which is not so simple. If you have updated your Nexus 7 to Android 4.2 and the device becomes slower than it was in the past. That is, slow down, then you are not lost. This problem can be resolved in a very simple way, which you will find below.

Google has praised Android 4.1, since in this version have greatly improved the performance of the operating system. Nexus 7 tablet costs only  $199, and also works as fast as the iPad from Apple, which will cost you a minimum of $ 399. In Google, innovations are made and guess what, owners of Nexus 7 appreciated such innovations. Imagine our disappointment when, after updating your device, it becomes slow: when scrolling through pages, when resuming from sleep, when you open the application list and other standard jobs with the tablet Nexus 7.

Maybe in the future it will all be fixed, but if you have faced with the same problem and want to solve it right now, below you will find an easy way. To do this, you do not need any special knowledge, skills or program. Everything is done very easily. We do not guarantee that this method will help all because the slowdown can occur for various reasons, but you should try it.

How to get rid of the lag in the tablet Nexus 7 with OS Android 4.2:

  • First, open up the device’s app drawer.
  • Open up Google Currents.
  • In the top right corner of the application, find the three vertical dots. Tap those.
  • Select the “Settings” option.
  • Un-check “Enable Background Sync.”
  • Reboot

These actions will help rid Nexus 7 tablet of lags. After the reboot you’ll notice that your device is running much faster now. There is also another more option to try if the first method doesn’t work for Nexus 7 owners.

1) Go into Settings.

2) Tap “Apps.”

3) Scroll over to “All” at the top by first tapping “Running” in the bar.

4) Find “Currents” and tap it.

5) Tap “Disable”.

It will disable Google Currents completely.  This option is for those that don’t use the service whatsoever and are experiencing the lag issues in the latest version of Jelly Bean.

Like many fixes, this may not be completely working for every Nexus 7 owner out there but it’s certainly worth a try for Nexus 7 owners who may be experiencing lag issues.

What does it mean by open up Google Media? What is Google Media?

Hello AJ. Thanks for notifying. I was about to write “Google Currents” and instead of that I mistype it as Google Media.

Maybe I was in some other state of mind and hence, made the mistake. Thanks again 🙂
