Google Nexus Tablet “Confirmed” by Asus Rep

I know, Google Nexus Tablet rumors are ten a penny right now, but given the fact that the thing could be in our hands as early as next week, you’ll forgive me for holding onto the more believable whispers for the time-being at least!

Those more interested in whether the Google Nexus Tablet actually exists than when and where it will first arrive were thrown quite the proverbial bone earlier this week, when a rep from Asus at Computex let slip that his company was indeed collaborating with Google on a project – the fruit of which is scheduled to debut before the end of the month.

Almost Official

Come on…this is pretty much as official as it gets without actually coming from Google themselves, right?

Spec-wise, the expected list has already been well and truly populated beyond all reasonable doubt by those in the know…or at least those claiming such. It seems certain at this stage that the Google Nexus Tablet or Asus Nexus 7 as some are calling it will boast a 7 inch display panel, quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor and a decent whack of RAM, perhaps up to 1GB.

Even more excitingly, the Nexus Tab is also likely to herald the launch of Google’s next-generation Android 4.1 or 5.0 OS, which has come to be known as Jelly Bean.

Google Conference Next Week

Whether or not any or all of this proves to be accurate or otherwise, Google’s I/O conference is coming on June 27th so at least there isn’t a great deal of time left to wait. Rest assured that we will be bringing you the developments as they happen.
