Google Nexus 7 is equipped with quad-core 1.3 GHz chipset of Nvidia Tegra 3 and GPU of ULP GeForce. Motorola Xoom is powered by 1 GHz dual-core processor with integrated Nvidia graphics.


Google Nexus 7 got the best Android operating system – Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. Motorola Xoom runs on Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS.


Google Nexus 7 is fueled with 4235 mAh of battery and Motorola Xoom comes with 3250 mAh of battery. For Motorola Xoom the battery mAh is low but the device still claims to offer 10 hours of video playback and on Wi-Fi connection up to 10 hours of Web browsing. You can enjoy MP3 playback on it for up to 3.3 days.


Google Nexus 7 comes in two versions – 8 GB and 16 GB on-board storage. The Motorola Xoom offers 16 GB of internal memory and it can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD cards.

Both the tablets support Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. The Motorola Xoom has additional Wi-Fi hotspot feature. The two also features microUSB 2.0 port.


Google Nexus 7 sports only 1.2 megapixel front facing camera for video calling where as Motorola Xoom got two cameras – 5 megapixel rear camera and 2 megapixel front camera. The rear camera of it also includes dual-LED flash and auto-focus features. The video capture capabilities of both the tablets are HD 720p. The Motorola Xoom also allows you to instantly upload video to sharing sites.


Google Nexus 7 supports audio formats of MP3, WAV, EAAC+, WMA With Loud Speaker, Microphone, 3.5mm Audio Jack and Motorola Xoom supports MP3, AAC, ACC+ Enhanced, OGG, MIKI, AMR NB with 3.5mm Audio Jack.


Google Nexus 7 is priced tagged at $199 in the U.S. and it is being sold for a bit more price in the UK market. Motorola Xoom is available at around $400 on different online retail stores like Amazon.
