Google Nexus 7 Tablet Vs Micromax Fun Book

The price of both the tablets are almost in 2:1 ratio but it is worth comparing here as Micromax too is a good brand offering high-quality mobiles and tablets at affordable prices equipped with latest hardware and software. Let’s have a quick look as what both the tablets are offering to their customers respectively.


Both the tablets are 7 inchers, but Google Nexus 7 got LED-backlit IPS LCD capacity touchscreen and the Micromax Funbook is only with a multi-touch capacitive touchscreen. Google Nexus 7 is superior to Micromax Funbook in screen resolution part. It offers 1280 x 800 pixels where as Funbook is just limited to 480 x 800 pixels.


Google Nexus 7 is powered with quad-core 1.3 GHz chipset of Nvidia Tegra 3 and GPU is ULP GeForce. Micromax got CPU of 1.2 GHz Cortex-A8 processor and GPU of Mali-400MP. Here too Google Nexus is superior to Micromax Funbook, but at the same time we can say the Funbook is maintaining industry standard hardware.


The best operating system till date in included in the Google Nexus 7 – the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. Micromax Funbook runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system, again an industry standard OS.


There is much difference in the batteries of both the tablets, but this does not mean one does not give amble backup. Google Nexus 7 is fueled with 4235 mAh battery and Funbook with 2800 mAh. As the resolution of Funbook is less than Nexus 7, and hence its battery consumption is also low. So, basically the Funbook too offers good battery backup.


Google offers RAM of 1 GB and Funbook comes with 512 MB RAM. Google Nexus 7 comes in two versions – 8 GB and 16 GB internal memory. Micromax Funbook offers 4 GB of internal memory. You can’t expand the memory on Nexus 7 but Funbook comes with microSD card slot to help expand memory up to 32 GB.

Data & Connectivity

Both the tablets comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity support but 3G is only supported on Funbook through dongle. Google Nexus 7 supports Bluetooth but Funbook lacks it.


Google Nexus 7 is equipped with 1.2 megapixel front facing camera and Funbook is just limited to 0.3 megapixel VGA camera. The image resolution on Nexus 7 is 1280 x 1024 pixels and on that of Funbook is 640 x 480 pixels. Google Nexus 7 also offers high resolution video recording – 720p. Funbook lacks this once again.


Google Nexus 7 is priced tagged $199 for its 8 GB model and Micromax Funbook is being retailed for around $110.
