Google Nexus 7 Tablet Heading To Retail Store: Andy Rubin

According to the Google’s senior VP of mobile Andy Rubin, the newly released Google Nexus 7 tablet are now heading towards the retail stores and soon they will be released for the same market price.

This is good news for most of the people, since plenty of feel it would be better to get the tablet from store instead of pre-ordering it from the Google play store.

Speaking to AllThingsD, Andy Rubin mentioned that Google won’t be increasing the price of Nexus 7 tablet available at the retail shops. He also mentioned that Google will not change to tablet-native apps system in the near future.

This will certainly be a bad news for people who are looking for tablet-native Android apps similar to the Apple’s iPad apps. Andy Rubin mentioned that Google Play content additions as the main reason for growing popularity of Android OS and changing it will derail the growth.

Well, whatever the case we are pretty sure Google Nexus 7 tablet will be the perfect fit for everyone who is looking to get their first tablet.

  1. does this include retail stores in canada?

  2. Will the 8GB model be sold in stores? So far it seems only the 16GB model will be available for purchase in retail stores.

      Hi PJ,

Both the models will be sold in Google’s retail stores, which will be opened shortly. On third party stores, you will get only the 16GB version.
